Installed in the fall of 2021 at 3rd Ave and 76th Street, this exhibition featured artwork by artists Ebony Bolt and Naomi Lawrence to celebrate the essential workers who continued to support NYC through the pandemic. The artists were selected via an open call with 10 local community stakeholders serving as the jury.\u00a0<\/p>

Bolt\u2019s digitally rendered design included depictions of essential workers engaged in acts of care and surrounded by a lemon tree motif to symbolize hope and rebirth. Lawrence\u2019s artwork amassed photographs of her 2-dimensional crochet flowers, trees, and wildlife that she previously installed on fences in public spaces throughout East Harlem and the Upper East Side. Together, their exhibition covered more than 350 feet of construction fencing with imagery that represents positive collectivity and responsibility for our fellow New Yorkers. \u2060<\/p>

The exhibition was made possible by Lenox Hill Hospital<\/a>, the City Canvas<\/a> pilot program run by NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and NYC Mayor\u2019s Office<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>
