Her first children\u2019s picture book, <i>The Turtle Ship<\/i> by Helena Ku Rhee, was illustrated in her signature style of paper collage. Since then, Kong-Savage\u2019s artwork has crossed into the digital realm, but still adheres to the aesthetics of collage. In 2021, she was granted the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation and the Society of Children\u2019s Book Writers and Illustrators inaugural portfolio showcase award. In addition to being an illustrator and graphic designer for small businesses and nonprofits, Kong-Savage is a mural artist who works with schools and communities.
